Marcain 0.5% + Adrenaline 20ml 1:200 N-AC

Note from supplier regarding the “N-AC” description:
As previously advised, Aspen continues to work very closely with partner organisations in order to provide vials of Xylocaine with Adrenaline and Marcain with Adrenaline that have not been autoclaved and thus won’t be termed “Sterile Theatre Packs”. Please note that the vials themselves, and the active and inactive ingredients are identical to the “Sterile Theatre Packs”. The manufacturing process and facility that produces vials remains the same and the solution inside is of course still sterile. The only difference is the non-autoclaved vials will not be individually wrapped in secondary packaging and SHOULD NOT BE PLACED DIRECTLY onto the sterile field in theatre. If a hospital staff member opens a carton of non-autoclaved vials, it will be immediately apparent that they are not “Sterile Theatre Packs. Availability of these vials will be communicated as information comes to hand.
Aspen understands that the handling and administering of non-autoclaved products in theatre will follow procedures that are in place for other products that are not termed “Sterile Theatre Packs”. Please ensure that all staff involved with handling or administering these products are informed and trained on appropriate procedures when these new non-autoclaved vials are available.
Note – The autoclaving process is designed to sterilise the external surfaces of the vial but has no impact on the solution inside the vial, which is already sterile. This autoclaving process enables Aspen to provide “Sterile Theatre Packs”
